Key Features:
• Appearance: With an olive-brown to black body patterned with darker blotches, this snake flattens its neck like a cobra when threatened, though it lacks venomous fangs.
• Size: One of the largest colubrids, it grows 6-8 feet, with some reaching over 9 feet.
• Temperament: Generally curious and docile, it can adapt well to handling when properly socialized.
• Diet: Its carnivorous diet includes rodents, fish, and amphibians, making it easy to feed in captivity.
• Habitat Needs: Requires a spacious enclosure with water for swimming, moderate humidity, and temperatures of 75-85°F, with a 90°F basking spot.
